Dipnetting

Dip netting is held during the weeks of July. It is where you dip net fish out of the ocean by taking large round nets (about 4 feet around) that are held by 12 foot long poles. You walk out into the current and hold out your net to catch the salmon swimming upstream to spawn. Here is dad in navy blue, Scott in green and Erin in light blue, waiting for the fish to get caught in their nets...

On the way home we were lucky enough to spot this grizzly brown bear right off the highway... lumbering along
